MINNEAPOLIS - Hundreds of people in Minnesota have been sickened by the flu-like norovirus this year in 45 outbreaks, about double the impact of last year, the Health Department reports.
The department has advised restaurants to take extra care to avoid infecting diners, especially during catered events and at-home dinner parties over the holidays.
The 48-hour virus is so common "that every food-service establishment will almost certainly be confronted with illness in one or more employees in the next few weeks or months," the Health Department said.
